A passionate pursuer of the written and spoken word, Tabari brings 20+ years of communications experience to the Scooter Media team. A two-time graduate of the University of Cincinnati where his scholarship study produced both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communications, the Cincinnati native has worked in the fields of journalism and public relations for several institutions, beginning his career as an assignment editor at WKRC–TV Local 12, where he also worked his way into a position as a news writer. Eventually moving on to The Community Press, he also worked for The Cincinnati Enquirer, primarily as one of the featured writers for CiN Weekly, a young reader publication that was once the highest read publication of its kind for Gannett. Tabari has also worked as a freelance writer for several other publications including Ebony, La Mega Nota, Cox Media Group and Xavier Nation, the official publication of Xavier University Athletics. He has also worked for several institutions in a public relations capacity, most notably the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal and serving as a game day assistant with the Cincinnati Bengals.
A resident of the Silverton neighborhood of Greater Cincinnati, Tabari has put together independent fundraisers to benefit non-profit ventures including The Cure Starts Now and Adore-A-Bull Pet Rescue. His movie blog McCoy on Movies reflects his dedicated interest in cinema; as an entertainer, Tabari’s time on stage has led to him being featured on the show Laughs on Fox as well as regular play on both Spotify and Pandora radio online.
