World Social Media Day, observed on June 30 each year, is the perfect day to raise a virtual toast to the feeds, stories and trends that keep us scrolling — and for the Scooter Media digital team, it’s practically a national holiday. To celebrate, we asked our digital team to spill their favorite social media hacks and time-saving tips.
Are you ready to level up your social game? Let’s dive in.
Social Media Hack #1: Let Your Audience Do the Talking (Literally)
Our Digital Account Supervisor Drew‘s biggest social media “hack” is to embrace user-generated content (UGC).
Drew says: “It always surprises me to see how many social media managers tend to overlook how viable of a strategy this can be (no matter what platform you’re on!), usually resulting in less time spent on making a post and driving better results/engagement in the process.
Some opportunities for UGC should go without saying — for example, if you’re doing social media marketing for a restaurant, you should absolutely be reposting all of the posts and Stories of yummy food photography your customers are tagging you in.
However, it can also be applied to so many other industries! For example, if you’re a nonprofit strapped for time, consider pulling testimonials from satisfied clients who have left glowing Google Reviews, put the testimonial on a nice branded template with your organization’s branding, and poof — you’ve just made a great social media post that shows your mission in action, and it only took a few minutes at most to create.”
Social Media Hack #2: Repurpose Like a Pro
Writing a strong thought leadership piece for your company’s blog takes time and effort, so why wouldn’t you want to maximize its impact? With a smart repurposing strategy, one thought leadership piece can fuel weeks of social media content across your company’s channels.
Here are our President & Founder Shannan Boyer‘s seven easy ways to maximize your company’s next thought leadership article:
- Turn key quotes or stats into graphics. Create branded quote cards, infographics, or text-only posts.
- Record a short video recap. A 60–90 second summary can be shared as a Reel, TikTok, YouTube Short, or LinkedIn video.
- Create a visual slide deck. Break the post into 5-8 slides featuring the main takeaways and publish as a LinkedIn Carousel.
- Design an infographic. Highlight compelling stats in a visually engaging way.
- Promote via email. Include a short summary or teaser in your company newsletter to drive readers to the article.
- Ask for input. Turn a key question or insight from the article into a poll or open-ended question to encourage engagement.
- Make it downloadable. Create a branded 1-pager or checklist version of the article to offer as a downloadable lead magnet.
Social Media Hack #3: Find TikTok Sounds That Won’t Get You in Trouble
For Assistant Account Executive Nevaeh Votel, leveraging the TikTok Creative Center is a great way to save time — and prevent possible headaches down the road.
Nevaeh says: “If you’ve ever tried using trending audio for your business account, you probably know how tricky it can be! Many popular sounds aren’t licensed for commercial use, which puts brands in a risky position when trying to jump on trends.
The good news is that the TikTok Creative Center allows you to filter by ‘Approved for Business Use.’ This checkbox helps you identify sounds that are not only trending, but also fully licensed for commercial use, perfect for keeping your content legally sound and brand-safe.”

Social Media Hack #4: Copy, Paste, Post
Our Senior Digital Specialist Sarah Brookbank‘s favorite social media hack is strategically using the “Duplicate Post” feature in Meta. It’s an especially great tool when making multiple posts to promote an event, and also makes it easy to post pictures to Facebook and Instagram when you need to crop photos and don’t have time to re-build the entire post.
Social Media Hack #5: Position Yourself as the Pro with LinkedIn Articles
For individuals or organizations looking to establish themselves as thought leaders — or if you just have something to share that is a bit too long for a feed post — our Account Specialist Chase Prather recommends checking out LinkedIn Articles.
Chase says: “The long-form format of LinkedIn Articles makes it the perfect place to share industry insights or findings. If you already have a blog, press release, or another piece of content you have already written, it is super easy to create a LinkedIn article! LinkedIn Articles can also be easily shared to other social media platforms, helping to make your thought leadership strategy even more efficient.”

Social Media Hack #6: Let the Data Do the Planning
Our Assistant Account Executive Abbie Trotter‘s favorite social media hack is to see what types of content perform well by looking at key elements of a post (such as format, length, and day/time posted) — and then replicating those elements for success.
To find this information, go to Meta Business Suite under Insights → Content. Then, sort posts by “Engagement Rate.” Use this data to help decide future posts and replicate successful patterns. This is especially helpful when planning cross-posts for Instagram!
